As part of its primary mandate, the Clean, Green and Healthy Initiative Enforcement Unit of Abia State Environmental Protection Agency, ASEPA, has carried out an intervention by clearing waste disposed at strategic locations in Umuahia, the state capital.

The team led by ASEPA's General Manager, Victor Apugo cleared heaps of refuse at Old Timber road by World Bank Housing Estate and Dozie Way, both in Umuahia.

In an interview with Abia Breaking News, the ASEPA GM, Victor Apugo decried the indiscriminate dumping of refuse by residents, advised that wastes be properly bagged and disposed at designated dumpsites.

He also warned that defaulters will be dealt with in accordance with the law, as the agency's enforcement officers and monitoring.

The ASEPA boss also lauded the governor for hearkening to the cries of the people by providing everything needed to ensure a clean and healthy state.

"what's you're seeing is the government hearkening to the cries of the people. For sometime now, the place has not been taken care of because of the issue of logistics but thank God our able governor has fixed it and permanently. He has decided that the place be kept clean always.
