And for those of you saying government should recognize it, the Nigerian constitution recognize two type of marriages already

Customary : consisting of traditional, Islam and church marriage.

Statutory :registry marriage.

Marry a lady from my place, you would be given a marriage certificate by the King. That validates the marriage. If you like do church wedding or registry that's your choice.
