I think the results of this study are misleading. It implies that alcohol increases health risks without external influence but clearly the major causes of death here are road injuries and self-harm which provides a context for interpreting the data.

Fact is, most healthy foods have some degenerative effect simply because man is born to live and die by some means or the other. You can't avoid it.

Same information on CNN about 3 days ago and two doctors were brought in to give their opinion on alcohol consumption, their professional advice was that alcohol consumption is unsafe in any quantity ,even the producers and sellers have the disclaimer on their bottles/cans

- Kidney stones which causes kidney damage which a lot of people blacks and white are suffering from
- Liver damage over time as the liver is involved in deamination /breakdown of alcohol as well as other foods taken in . this weakens the liver and causes liver problems
- High alcohol usage cause cardiomyopathy which is disease of the heart
- high alcohol intake induces high blood pressure
The list is endless which brings me the questions to why people use their money to buy their death, isn't it ironical!!!

What do people derive in taking alcohol
- Temporary feeling of highness which makes everything appear as what they are not. Alcohol taken before sex makes sex appear sweeter, but in reality the release of chemical and antidepressants cause reduced inhibitions can lead to an increase in sexual behavior.This feeling goes away after sex and its difficult for a person to have normal sex without alcoho once addicted..
