Manchester United continues their woeful journey this season as they conceded yet another defeat and this time it was against Tottenham. Manchester United started the game on high notes in the first half as chances were missed by the likes of Jese Lingard, Romelu Lukaku.

The Second half was another story as Tottenham came back strong with Goals for Harry Kane (1) and Lucas Moura (2). Manchester United shaky defence costed them the woeful defeat against Tottenham and remember that Jose Mourinho lamented about his shaky defence before the commencement of the season. It's obvious that the team needs new set of defenders.

However, Mauricio Pochettino had recorded his first victory as a manager at Old Trafford and what an emphatic one it had proven to be, the younger of the two coaches unsure quite how best to handle Mourinho’s moment of humiliation on the touchline. At the final whistle Mourinho marched onto the pitch as if to do something that had been on his mind and just ended up solemnly applauding the Stretford End, a strange end to a disastrous evening for him.

Pochettino, long regarded as the best man for the Old Trafford job, had delivered a major victory and in the moment it was hard to see where Mourinho comes back from this start to the season with two defeats in his first three games. There may yet be a turnaround, but as United go to Burnley on Sunday in 13th place it does not feel like there is much to hang onto for a team that is failing in all departments and a manager who seems like he could do anything.

Also, Manchester United boss, Jose Mourinho has something to say about the match; read what he said below:

"We work very well during the week. We prepare very well. We play very well with a fantastic attitude. At half-time the score should be two goals difference, minimum.

"Then something changed the game a little bit. Then the result was 2-0 but the team was in the game. I think everyone could feel one goal could change the game. I think Tottenham felt it. We were feeling that too.We work all week. By the strategic point of view we did not lose, by the tactical view we did not lose, but we did lose the game. Our fans do not read papers, do not watch television for them to give that fantastic response. Only the 3-0 smashed the mentality of the team. Goals are an amazing vitamin and goals conceded are an overdose of fatigue.

[With Phil Jones' hamstring have you now got a crisis in defence?] (He laughs with sarcastic contempt.) "I have Chris Smalling, Lindelof and Bailly. The market is closed. I don't speak about it any more. There is no market until 1 January.

"The team that fights the way it did, the solidarity and dignity, is united. I think people don’t believe what they read. The team is united. There is no union without the manager.

Post-match factsheet from Opta

Tottenham have begun a top-flight season with three wins from three games for only the fifth time in their history, and first since 2009-10.
Manchester United have lost two of their opening three Premier League games for the first time since 1992-93, when they ended up winning the title in the competition’s inaugural campaign.
This was Man Utd boss Jose Mourinho’s biggest ever home defeat in all competitions as a manager.
Tottenham earned their biggest top-flight win at Old Trafford since a 4-1 win in October 1972, with Martin Peters scoring all four goals for Spurs.
All three of Tottenham’s Premier League wins at Old Trafford have come with a different manager at the helm – Andre Villas Boas (Sep 2012), Tim Sherwood (Jan 2014) and Mauricio Pochettino.
This was Manchester United’s 50th home defeat in the Premier League.
Tottenham striker Harry Kane has now scored in 25 of the 28 grounds in which he’s played in the Premier League, with the exceptions being the Boleyn Ground, the Stadium of Light and Cardiff City Stadium.
There were just 133 seconds between Tottenham’s opening two goals – the quickest time between two goals for the away side at Old Trafford since April 2012 (112 seconds between Nikica Jelavic and Steven Pienaar strikes for Everton).
Man Utd boss Jose Mourinho has lost two of his opening three games in a league season for the first time in his career.

Do you think Jose Mourinho's 3rd year syndrome is back again? Who's at fault? Is it the defenders, Jose Mourinho, Manchester United Board, others? Drop your comments below.
