The op didnt mention anything about fuel economy.

Both the 99 -2018 Toyota sienna .
Non of them are gas guzzlers. This are cars that can be daily driven with ac on and you get a good gas mileage. Its not until you drive a Corolla without ac and move small distance that is economical. Bad things no good . make God no allow poverty master us.

Yes, but marginal. For example, you use the expensive T IV ATF for 2006 model while you use dexron III for the 1999 model.

The 2006 is more powerful, handles better, has a very good turn radius relative to the 1999 model.

2006 has a 3.3L engine while 1999 has a 3.0L engine.

From my experience, 2006 is slightly more thirsty.

I still wish to remind you that if fuel economy will be a concern, don't go for the car but it is powerful, fun to drive, spacious, comfortable and reliable.

The advantage I see 1999 model have over 2006 is a dash fascia that last, but surely, there will be others.

The embolded is not true. 2006 sienna has better city and highway mpg than the 1999 model. Though maintenance might be higher on the long run because it requires more expensive fluid and has more electricals. But then when u consider it's a newer car especially if it's not Nigerian used. Then the equation will balance. I'll choose the newer sienna anyday.

I know, that's why I said "from my experience". Another person can have a different experience. I don't also drive the older one as hard as the 2006 generation because of handling...

Get the 2006 model. It's an upgrade of the earlier model & offers better handling, improved mpg, smooth acceleration & driving dynamics.

It also offers bigger luggage compartment better ground clearance & rear window that can be wound down if your aircon is faulty.

It's advisable to get the AWD for better traction & acceleration especially when you are ferrying goods but with a slightly reduced mpg. One major negative is the melting dash fascia.

Traveled all the way from ph to Enugu, was really disappointed pics can easily deceive.. all I can say is the car is total rubbish. Would stick to mine... na today I value and respect my car. Once again thanks for the advice . No need for the upgrade..

If what u are trying to say is that 2006 Sienna is rubbish compared to 1999 then my brother u must have traveled in a van that is in a bad condition. Even a ride in a Bentley will look like total rubbish compared to a 1999 camry if the Bentley is in a bad condition. There's no way the ride on a 1999 Sienna would be better than a 2006 model.

Oh, I get it now. Thought he meant he traveled from PH to Enugu in an 06 Sienna. I can't imagine traveling 200km to inspect a Naija used car. If its not nearby I no dey go. 8 out of 10 advertised naija used cars up for sale have been seriously abused.

very true. Most Naija used cars for sale, owners are just trying to pass on their troubles to other unfortunate souls.
Now imagine a car that has been through two or three different naija owners

Don't travel to see just one car. Waste of time and money. Have like five or six options in the city before travelling there.
