Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola, has said he will not judge Jose Mourinho, after the Manchester United manager claimed he deserved “respect” for winning three Premier League titles.

Mourinho has come under scrutiny after United’s back-to-back defeats against Brighton and Tottenham, which has left them 13th with just three points.

The United boss stormed out of his post-match press conference after the 3-0 loss to Spurs at Old Trafford on Monday, demanding for more respect as he made reference to his title wins with Chelsea.

When Manchester City boss Guardiola was asked whether he thought Mourinho needed to ask for it, he said: “I said many times I don’t judge. Of course we are judged for the titles we get now, especially if you have won titles as it can work.

“There is no doubt about his quality – I have never doubted that in the past, I won’t now. But it is not only the titles.

“I have said many times, for example with myself, I have won at amazing clubs with amazing players, but if that had not happened I would not have won titles.

“But there are many many managers who don’t win titles who are excellent. That’s why on one side it happens because you have something special to win titles but the other side managers are so good it is not necessary to win because good clubs, good players sustain you.

“In many circumstances, the manager cannot control it. That does not mean they are not good.”

Morinho can talk because has won something managing top clubs unlike a certain Wenger who went 12 years without a title in a top club.

Morinho didn't go a decade without titles. Even in his present title-less run of campaigns he has some small trophies to point to and an improving squad.

When you consider that Guardiola won three titles in a one team league and got a lot of favour with bad refereeing decisions in UCL (2009 against Chelsea) then his record isn't so great. What is left is largely his tiki-taka possession game play.

blah blah blah... Last season, he totally dominated EPL, the supposedly toughest league in the world. Remind us the number of points between first and second place at the end of the season.

EPL has been weak for the past four seasons and it is only natural that any strong team that emanate dominate. The points man u got would have won a league title between 2006-'13. Liecester winning the title is proof of this.
