UDOM'S CAMPAIGN COMMITTEE MEMBERS RESIGN, JOIN APC

Over 5000 PDP defectors have been received into APC by APC state chairman, Hon Ini Okopido in Ika local government area of Akwa Ibom state. Newly inaugurated members of the Deacon Udom Emmanuel second term campaign committee including, Dr Francis Udoikpong, Barr. Uyo Udom, Hon Harry Eduo, Hon Sir Godwin Idungafa and over 5000 other members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP declared for APC.

They asked their names to be removed from PDP register as well as Udom campaign team.

This follows the already concluded intending defection of a PDP chieftain Hon. Idongesit Ituen who is the member representing Itu State Constituency in the House of Assembly.

Udom Emmanuel has become increasingly worried by the depleting ranks of personnel in the camp of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) occassioned by the gale of defections by members of the party.

Sources revealed that the governor has ordered party chieftains including the Senator representing Uyo Senatorial District, Obong Bassey Albert; PDP National Adviser, Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem; and Works Commissioner, Mr. Ephraim Inyang, to plead with Hon. Idongesit Ituen, to reverse his planned defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

It was gathered that Senator Albert, Barr. Enoidem, Mr. Ephraim Inyang, and other chieftains of the PDP have literally turned the legislator's house to a Mecca.

They went, cap in hand, on separate occasions to divulge to the state legislator that Governor Emmanuel has decided to give him an automatic ticket for the PDP House of Assembly primary.

It was revealed that the promise of automatic ticket has not swayed Ituen who has already made up his mind to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The PDP, though, have not relented in their plea of Ituen, who is believed to be the life-wire of the party in Itu Local Government Area.
