History
Genevieve Nnaji was born in Mbaise, Imo State, Nigeria. She grew up in Lagos state in the western part of the country, she is the fourth child of eight children of her parent. Her Dad worked as an engineer while her mom worked as a nursery school teacher.

Education

She attended Methodist Girls College at Yaba, Lagos, before going into the University of Lagos where she graduated with a degree in creative arts.

Acting Career

Nnaji started her acting career as a baby actor in the popular television soap opera Ripples at the age of eight. She was introduced into the growing Nigerian movie industry in 1998 with when she was just 19 years old with the movie “Most Wanted”.

Nnaji has starred in over 80 Nollywood movies including Last Party, Mark of the Beast and Ijele. In 2010 she starred in the award-winning film Ijé: The Journey. She has starred in over eighty Nollywood movies.

In 2009 she was among the highest paid actresses in Nollywood. thanks to her contributions to the Nigerian film industry, she became she became the first actress to be awarded Best Actress at the 2001 City Peoples Awards, In 2009 also, she was mentioned as the Julia Roberts of Africa by Oprah Winfrey.



Music Carrier

In 2004 she released her debut album title “Line “at that time, she was signed sign to Ghanaian record label EKB Records. Her debut album One Logologo Line was a mix of R&B and Hip-Hop

Modeling Carrier

Nnaji has featured in many commercials a number of which include Pronto beverage and Omo detergent in 2004 she became the “Face of Lux” in Nigeria in a well-paying deal. In 2008 Genevieve launched her clothing line, “St. Genevieve” that donates its return to charity.

Nnaji has was many awards, including the Best Actress of the year award at the 2001 City People Awards and the Best Actress in a Leading Role award at the 2005 edition Africa Movie Academy Awards, Best Movie West Africa at the 2016 edition of Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards, Best Actress TV Series at the 2010 edition of Nigeria Entertainment Awards and so many others awards
