A 16-year-old boy who had grade 47 in the just ended Basic Education Certificate examination (BECE) has allegedly committed suicide.

According to reports, the deceased, Daniel Mensah hanged himself for not getting a placement to any Senior High School (SHS).

He left a note behind'

Ghana education system is not good at all buh they have no one to tell them. They can literally stop at JHS according to that their mumu system. In Nigeria, if you fail JHS, you move forward while you continue writing again from wherever you are. Buh here, JHS is like the SSS in Nigeria where you'd write Jamb and seek admission to schools, JHS BECE or whatever they call it determines their life. Many bright students stops at that level and dazol. It's really bad. Mtcheew.

His letter alone shows he is not ready for school.
