For allegedly dumping adead baby at No. 16 Okolie street Okpoko in Ogbaru LGA of Anambra state, near
Onitsha, by an unknown nursing mother, no fewer than nine women who are suspects, have been arrested and would today (Monday) go for medical laboratory test to detect the true mother
of the dead baby. Consequently, both the building and street have been deserted by residents to avoid being arrested. Orient Daily reliably gathered that the baby was dumped in the wee hours of Friday by the yet to identified nursing mother who perpetrated the act to avoid being
noticed when her baby allegedly died. It was not ascertained immediately if the new born was killed and dumped by the run-away mother or whether the baby naturally died before being dumped.
Those arrested were mostly spinsters according to sources and the test would indicate who owns the dead baby.
Reacting on the incident when contacted, the Okpoko Divisional said that nine women believed to be nursing mothers have been arrested.

“They will be sent to medical test on Monday and I don’t want to suffer the innocent ones and
that is why we call for the test.
If at the end of the day they are proved to be innocent we continue to search for the suspect. Presently the corpse has been deposited in a mortuary. The test will help
us in our investigation as we are not medical experts to detect the mother without test”, he further explained.
As of the time of filling this report the residents of the street were seen discussing the ugly incident in groups
