Please Leave Kemi Alone

Nigeria’s Minister of finance Mrs Kemi Adesosun has called it a day in her position as Minister of finance. The Ogun State born graduate of London has been subject to investigation in the last six months over alleged certificate forgery of her NYSC exemption. Mrs Adesosun was appointed Minister by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015 and succeeded Mrs Ngozi Okonjo- Iwella. Mrs Adesosun became a hot topic first when she assumed her role as Minister of finance in 2015 with many viewing her incompetent as compared to her predecessor.

Kemi Adesosun was born in London to Nigerian parents in 1967 and was resident there for the first 34 years of her life before residing in her native country Nigeria.

The NYSC programme which became a national requirement for graduates of higher institution began in 1973 by the Gen Yakubu Gowon adminstration as a means to unite the nation after her first civil war which was assumed to have divided it along ethic and geographical lines.

The NYSC programme requires that a graduate below 30 must serve their fatherland for about a year usually by posting graduates to areas they were not born in or were not conversant with as part of the Unity building process of the nation. While those below 30 have it mandatory, those above are to apply for an exemption certificate.

However Mrs Adesosun has become a victim of certificate scammers as she was naive about the procedures and legit nature of the exemption certificate she acquired having not been in the country for so long. It was reported that the certificate Mrs Adesosun possesses was doctored and it has the signature of the NYSC boss who had already left his duty six months earlier.

Premium Times Nigeria has been the spear headers of this investigation as they were the first to blow the whistle over her

Dear OP, don't you think it will even be ideal for the government to quizz the ex-minister so as to nab these close associates of her who procured the 'Oluwole' certificate for her .

Do not also forget that ignorance is not an excuse in law.
