Hmmmm It's a low income, but you can grow that money and even become better than those who earn far more than you with time. Save AT LEAST 10% or let's say between 5k to 10k from the money monthly and keep investing it in a mutual fund. The Nigerian mutual fund currently yield an average of 11% P.A. See HOW TO INVEST IN THE NIGERIAN MUTUAL FUND AND GROW YOU MONEY. God willing, you could get a more paying job or get promoted. You could still consider doing some side hustle that wouldn't affect your job. Also, you may decide to get full time into a business of your own when you have saved up some sizable amount of money. ( Optionally ) SEE SOME SIDE HUSTLES YOU CAN DO. Don't worry, just be patient and keep being diligent with your job, and in no distant time, all will be well. |

Take it from the annual view, then you will see how to use saving as a tool to live big on nothing 42k per month is 504k per annum. Make sure your rent is not above 150k per year. Open an account for rent and transfer 12,500 Naira to that every month for your rent. Spend the rest as you wish. The main thing is to ensure your accommodation is guaranteed 3 Likes |

PRINCEVICKEY:your graduate friend is roofing his house from a meagre 35k earning? He must have another cool source of income you know nothing about. ............ @Op.. 42k isn't bad, yet not good enough. Bills would come, sort only in the order of priority. You can't completely get over with this. Never take a Loan! Cut your expenses according to your salary. Make sure to save at least 2k every month. 7 Likes |

Make a list of your bills for example 1. Are you subscribed to DSTV? 2. How much do you spend on mobile data and calls per month? 3. How much do you spend on transportation to and fro work? 4. How much do you spend on church (tithes etc) 5. How much for feeding per month (do you buy foodstuff enbulk or need to eat basis) Advice 1. Pay yourself a fixed amount monthly and save it for emergency 2. Cut down cost on frivolities 3. Sign up to investments apps that does auto debit monthly 4. Buy foodstuff enbulk if you can 5. Avoid parties or eating out I'm sure if you do this for a year you might get a saving of at least N100k in a year BigbamoAYO: 3 Likes 1 Share |

use your free time to learn how to use social media for business, learn few digital marketing courses... start your social media agency in 3 months, and sign up to handle clients social media pages for a retainer for as low as 50k per month. get 3 clients and in a few months you will resign from that 42k job... my 2 cents. i have seen it work! 1 Like |
