can someone living in abuja shed some light here please. 3 adults + 1 child (not infant/toddler/teen) survive on 70k a month in Abuja? Within Kubwa or Karu axis 70K a month for feeding, gas refil and electricity (this is usually within 5 - 9k pm) ONLY All other bills Transportation/rent/childs tuition etc is catered for separately. If someone can breakdown expenditures on how that money can be spent with or without savings please - within Karu or Kubwa axis please If more money is needed expantiate, if savings could be made, also expantiate please.....the person needing this info will be on hand to answer |

Make a list of your bills for example 1. Are you subscribed to DSTV? 2. How much do you spend on mobile data and calls per month? 3. How much do you spend on transportation to and fro work? 4. How much do you spend on church (tithes etc) 5. How much for feeding per month (do you buy foodstuff enbulk or need to eat basis) Advice 1. Pay yourself a fixed amount monthly and save it for emergency 2. Cut down cost on frivolities 3. Sign up to investments apps that does auto debit monthly 4. Buy foodstuff enbulk if you can 5. Avoid parties or eating out keepingmum: 1 Like |

Please dont make this thread an abusive or argumentative one. Its supposed to be a thread to learn from. Make your point without calling oneself out of their names please. There r no dstv charges or gotv fees . Just regular subscription n top up mtn charges, then feeding. No generator charges as there is an inverter. Like i said, the 70k is for anything feeding and nepa bill ONLY 1 Like |

keepingmum:If all expensense are accounted for separately then what do they need 70K for? 10k should be enough for feeding. |

They need to buy foodstuffs, cook soup, refil gas and pay for Nepa which is often around 5 - 9k a month. Breakfast lunch and dinner for 3 grown adults + 1 child. My question is , is 70k sufficient a month for the above in abuja |
Re: 70k A Month - Living In Abuja by sisisioge: 11:03pm On Sep 18, 2018 |
Evangkatsoulis: 10k enough for feeding? Three adults and a lil one! It is well. OP, let's hope NEPA isn't worse than they are here then 15k would be enough for them. The remaining 55k would be enough for feeding. Hopeful, the lil one eats what the rest of the house eats and the adults only eat twice in a day. 7k for biscuits, candies , ice cream and caprison. Everything must be rationed to last a month . Then out of the 48k, you cook at least 6 soups with 25k and store in the freezer. 10k for beverages and cereals. 8k for food stuffs. Then the last 5k kept in a separate jar for unplanned quick fixes. By the time you do this for 3 months, you will get a pattern that completely suits you. 2 Likes |

keepingmum: From the above and your explanations, it is much possible with some level of prudency. Expense to query; Feeding for 3 adults and a child; Location; Abuja Bag of rice: 14,000. * Bean, garri, wheat, semo: 20,000* * Other miscellaneous items needed for cooking; palm oil, ground nut oil, maggi, salt, seasonings; 10,000 NEPA (5-9k = 14/2= 7k) Average cost taking away assumptions Gas; 6 kg on heavy usage = 2k/2 weeks = 4k monthly * Soup cooking; twice/week average of 5k per week= 20k/month considering every other cooking ingredients is available Amount brought forward= 75,000 Note; This is a surplus budget as prices of the food items are a little bit exaggerated to checkmate cost push inflation. The asteric part are sections where cost may be lower than projected. 1 Like |
