ACCESS BANK INTRODUCES WHATSAPP BANKING
Access Bank Plc has made new inroads into banking technology as it introduces its brand new “Access WhatsApp Banking”.

Designed to provide customers with easy and reliable banking transactions, the banking service allows users to automate most parts of the banking experience, providing customers with the ease of remote banking with the efficiency of the best personnel and the intimacy of a customized experience.

Access WhatsApp banking is a non-intrusive service, which does not require users to download a new application or use extra data to access the options available. It works with the existing WhatsApp application and can be used immediately.

ROME BUSINESS SCHOOL SET TO PRIORITIES INDIGENOUS ENTERPRISES
In order to promote family enterprise in Nigeria, the Rome Business School has restated its commitment to lift the economy, especially at the micro level.

This was disclosed by the Country Manager, Dr Humphrey Akanazu during an interview session with newsmen.

Speaking during the interview, Humphrey noted that stronger support for family businesses is critical to establish job opportunities adding that family businesses are the backbone of Nigeria’s economy but governance seems to be their biggest challenge.

OSINBAJO, EMEFIELE, OVIA ADVISE INVESTORS ON KNOWLEDGE, EXCELLENCE
Investors have been urged to seek for knowledge in their areas of business and show commitment to excellence if they want to succeed and make an impact on the economy.

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo; the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emefiele; and the Chairman, Zenith Bank Plc, Jim Ovia, among other finance experts, gave the advice in Lagos on Monday during the presentation of a book written by Ovia, and entitled: ‘Africa Arise and Shine’.

Osinbajo commended Ovia for writing the book to share knowledge with others on how he succeeded in his business.

CBN STIPULATES N10,000 FINE FOR BANKS FOR UNRECTIFIED FAILED E-TRANSACTIONS
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in a circular has directed that any bank and other financial institutions that fail to rectify failed e-transaction within 24 hours will be liable to a monetary fine.

In a ‘Circular on the regulation on instant inter-bank electronic funds transfer services in Nigeria’, issued to all Deposit Money Banks, microfinance banks, other financial institutions, mobile money operators, development finance institutions, payment service providers and other stakeholders, the apex bank stated that any failed Nigerian Instant Payment transaction not reversed into the customer’s account within 24 hours, based on complaint of the sender and/or beneficiary will attract a fine of N10,000.

It also stated that delayed application of inward NIP into beneficiary’s accounts beyond four minutes would attract a penalty fee of N10,000 per item.

CBN STEPS UP DISTRIBUTION OF LOWER DENOMINATIONS
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has stepped up the campaign to rid the country of dirty notes, make lower denominations available and stem the tide of racketeering in new notes, as it approved a disbursement to traders at the Tejuosho Ultra-modern Market, in Lagos.

The lower denominations approved by the management of CBN for the disbursement include N200, N100, N50, N20, N10 and N5 denominations to economic agents.’

This is in continuation of a series of direct disbursements to marketers, merchants, shopping malls, supermarkets, tollgates, among others, with a searchlight on the recipients to ensure compliance to rules.
