Lol....CitiBank is a foreign bank though. It is not a commercial bank per say; it deals mostly on foreign transactions; forex, international bank transfers etc.

I see one on my way to work. The parking lot is always empty save for one SUV and a Camry which I presume belongs to staff

Lol! Yes, they are. Citi is a global bank. They are here to service most of their corporate clients (multinationals and other big coys). Not in Nigeria for the one-kobo owo oniru, owo oniyo and all that. That one is food for GTB and the likes (no offense lol). That explains why you don’t see much of their branches around. Their Nigerian subsidiary is not fully into Retail/Commercial banking, save for the High Net worth Individuals they serve. It’s one of the 3 international banks in Nigeria alongside Standard Chartered and Stanbic IBTC. Citi is a very strong brand and arguably one of the best places to work anywhere in the world. More often than not, when you hear of them in the news in Nigeria, it is on international transactions with a very massive amount involved.
