GDPR develops the past section of data protection laws and gives a more productive approach to the issue. It is in the account accelerating world of international e-commerce and gives up to date and more detailed set of principles for handling personal data of an individual. Basically, it means that every company which collects data in the European Union must obey the regulation, even if the company is not present in the EU. A Data Protection Officer who is usually defined as the company is responsible for GDPR training.
It’s completely fine to say that GDPR has made a worldwide impact on the companies. GDPR minimizes the risk of errors and conducts the process in a productive, effective and achievable timeline. But still, every company should make a characterized risk management strategy and also a compliance plan is most important. As the compliance plan is an essential part of the company, which smoothes transition that makes you easy to tackle all the sections of transformation as per the requirements.
As far as I know, there’s no officially recognized certification (at least not by the EU). There are a number of institutes that offer DPO / GDPR certifications, of which the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) probably offers the highest in value (and in terms of recognition).
