Javier Bordas believes that the absence of Lionel Messi discredits the award.

Bordas feels it is unimaginable that the Argentine isn’t considered within the criteria of the best players in world soccer.

“Messi‘s absence discredits the award,” he explained.

“Everyone is aware he’s the best in the world in all aspects.

“If you happen to put Messi in Modric‘s position then he’d do better, he is a better passer, higher finisher, he is been the best for many years.”
