However, Ray J’s days of bragging are behind him, as he refused to be drawn into the latest controversy involving his famous ex on Monday.

The singer was asked by TooFab to comment on the feud between Kanye West and Nick Cannon, after the former accused the latter of being disrespectful for discussing his wife in an interview.

What they’re going through, I don’t know,’ he said. ‘That’s some macho-macho kind of stuff that I don’t wanna be a part of.’

The 37-year-old, who dated Kim on-and-off for three years, was accompanied by his wife Princess Love and their four-month-old daughter Melody.

‘I haven’t really been paying attention to the back and forth between other parties,’ he said. ‘For me, I have to grow up and be my own man and look out for my own family and make sure that my wife and baby are comfortable with what I’m saying. So if that affects them then it affects me.’

‘If my wife says I can’t speak then that’s for sure. I gotta listen to her.

‘I’ve been disrespectful over the years in my career because I was living a young, turnt up life,’ he continued. ‘I’ve said a lot of crazy things about a lot of stuff.’

Indeed, in 2013 he released a track called ‘I Hit It First’, allegedly a diss track aimed at Kim and Kanye.

‘Looking back, I wouldn’t take anything back, but looking forward, I wouldn’t do it again,’ he said. ‘I would definitely think twice before I speak and take everybody’s feelings into consideration and not just mine.’
