Today Is World Tourism Day - Let's Celebrate Tourism In Nigeria by tourismlove: 10:33am On Sep 27, 2018 |
World Tourism Day, which falls on Sept. 27 annually and is celebrating its 38th year in 2015, was conceived by the United Nations to celebrate one of the world’s most important industries. World Tourism Day was established at the third session of the U.N. World Trade Organization General Assembly in 1979, it was seen as a milestone within the international community and demonstrated the important social, cultural, political and economic effects of travel worldwide. “Every time we travel, for whatever reason, we are part of a global movement; a movement that has the power to drive inclusive development, create jobs and build the sustainable societies we want for our future; a movement that builds mutual understanding and can help us safeguard our shared natural and cultural heritage,” noted the U.N. World Tourism Organization Network, underlining the founding values of the day. Sept. 27 was chosen as the day because it comes at the end of tourism's high season in the Northern Hemisphere and the beginning of the holiday season in the Southern Hemisphere. So to celebrate World Tourism Day, here are pictures of the beautiful tourist attractions of My country Nigeria. I would be showing images that show some beautiful tourist attractions in our country; some I have personally explored and others I plan to explore very soon. 1) Badagry with my friends, this trip cost us 9,000 each and it was an all inclusive package. 2) Olumo rock, Abeokuta, this trip cost us 10,000 each; we also visited the Alake’s Palace, Funaab zoo Park, Adire Market and a tour round the city. 3) Erin Ijesha , Waterfalls, this cost us 12,000 each; we also visited the Ooni’s Palace and the National Museum Ile-Ife. 4) National Museum Lagos with the kids, took over 50kids there and spent less than 50,000. 5) Ogbunike Cave 6) Obudu Mountain Resort 7) Gurara Falls 8 ) Kano Walls Feel free to upload more lovely pictures of your beautiful Nigeria and your tours too. Nigeria is one country that never values, or undervalues, her natural potentialities. All over this country are beautiful sights that we can generate good income from through tourism but I can bet the only thing on the mind of an average Nigerian Politician is 'HOW TO EMBEZZLE MONEY'. But it's foolishness because that money can never follow them to the grave. And it is still that embezzled money that will render their offspring useless. The only hope for Tourism in Nigeria is the Private sector 4 Likes |
