It seems the PCRRU want us to pay for Bail of #25,000 ask requested by the IPO.Nigerian's dot be deceived Bail is not free.

,My names are Amatu Sankey am from bayelsa state. I've a complain against a police officer called Timadi Isaac (phone number 08136170332) who is the IPO handling my son's case in Yenagoa,Bayelsa state anti cultism units.

My son Tena Sankey 14 and is friend Dino 15 including three girls where arrested on February of this year 2019,on suspicious of cultism and they where all under age.the three girls where released on the day of the arrest,while the boys where detained,we did all we could to seek for there bail,but the said amount for bail by the IPO #300,000 for the both boys was beyond us.After five mouths in detention they where taken to court on June 16,the court refers the case to a family court because of the ages of the boys.they where brought back to police detention and ask we the parents to come for the bail till went the case will be taken to the family court.we want for there bail and disame IPO is calling #25,000.00,which we said bail is free.The Second detain suspect Dino ways released on this month of September 2019 after eight month in police detention.

How he was release,he called is mum from the cell and told are that he has made some money inside the cell, he gave is mother #20,000 for is bail,money he made in detention.The IPO after take the sum of #20,000 from Dino's mother, according to Dino when he was been release five thousand on him was search and collected by the IPO,making #25,000 collected.
My son Tena Sankey is still in detention and IPO is demanding #25,000 to bail him out,Please if bail for the common man is also free your intervention is urgently needed.

Bail is the temporary release of a person who has been arrested, charged to court or imprisoned, pending the conclusion of investigation or the determination of the case against him, or the determination of his appeal against conviction. There are 2 types of bail; police bail and court bail, thus bail can be granted by the Police or by the Courts.

In the Court the general rule is that anyone who is not arraigned for an offence punishable by death can be admitted to bail. The law provides that anyone arrested must be brought before a court of law within a reasonable time or the person should be released on bail. Reasonable time is defined as 24 hours after arrest where a court is situated within 40 kms from the Police station and 48 hours where the court is far away from the station. The process for applying for bail at the station is in writing, the person applying shall produce a surety and the application shall include the passport photograph of the surety, if conditions are set for the bail,the suspect must satisfy the conditions before he is released. Bail is free in the police station however in reality this is far from the truth as some policemen demand payment for such bail applications even though the monies collected are never rendered to their superiors.
