What Kind of Change By Soibi Ransom Change Change Change !! The people yelled They came and promised a change A change without a basis for change A change none cared to know The people believed their lies A story of change Heaven on Earth they promised No more pain they said One naira equal to a dollar Monthly stipend for the youths The people believed their lies In exchange gave them their votes They came and started with excuses Jonathan the problem they said The opposition a band of thieves Dasuki incarcerated for years Diversion of funds they said Shites mutilated unjustly Their leader still in prison The people asked for change A change they never knew was bad The economy entered a recess Prices beyond normal Poverty more than ever Crime more than ever Herdsmen now on the rampage Killing a game of fun The people asked for change A change they never cared to know Elections now inconclusive Voters being harassed Votes buying now the norm Card readers must fail Elections now like a coup Democracy raped and despised With the winners not allowed to rule The people asked for change A change they never cared to know. Parallel government threatened Parallel conventions they suffered Oh what sort of change Fuel now as costly as gold They claim they sweep corruption But their own homes are dirtiest Their beds littered with dungs Their cushions covered with maggots The people wanted change A change they never cared to know. Intergrity they said he had Yet his results are yet to be found His relatives have fat accounts His ministers bastardly rich His son drives an expensive bike Yet he has no sort of job His children all schooled abroad Yet he cannot pay for a form Pastors warned about this change Kanu warned it was all a lie Jonathan said don’t believe the lies But the people had made up their minds The people asked for change A change they never cared to know Now many regret They wished they never asked for change A change that has put them in chains A onc Continue https://dailymemoirsnews./2018/09/27/poem-what-kind-of-change-by-soibi-ransom/
