You are correct sir, but only a court order can make such available to the public. What they should have done is to sue APC, join Sanwo through proxy and ask the court to make Sanwo's record public.

But you know the courts were on strike, that's probably the reason why they descended so low.

Sanwo can sue the Hospital and its management.
Bro, What about if it's a Question asked in the Governorship forms filled..

How do we begin since some of us here take it for fun? We the youths need to pause and ponder and then apply our YOUTHFUL intelligence to think and make clever decisions even if we don't fully manifest in time for this election, before next election we are already a force. The reason why we are still like this is because we fail ourselves by shying away from things we need to do. Let's THINK, THINK,THINK and STRATEGIZE on how to move forward. Look at how creative, innovative and clever most of us are but still specialize in 1. Bring him down syndrome 2. Tribalism 3. If not me or us, no one else 4. APC or PDP 5. Lack of result oriented movements/plans 6. Caricatures, uninterested in national discourse etc.(No disrespect) For instance, NOT TOO YOUNG TO RUN BILL has recently been signed. That means we must be a force by next election. Our time is near.

" Into whatever houses I enter…whatever, in connection with my professional practice or not, in connection with it, I see or hear, in the life of men, which ought not to be spoken of abroad, I will not divulge, as reckoning that all such should be kept secret”

The inference above is the medical Hippocratic oath of secrecy that protects the rights of patients and their medical records from being divulged to a third party. Health and ill-health is often a deeply personal journey and the fear of stigma and shame keeps many sufferers from seeking medical attention. So it is of the utmost importance that personal information shared remains between the patient and the care giver.

This medical oath of secrecy has now been flouted by some medical personnel at the Lagos state owned Gbagada General Hospital and is now being used as a political weapon by the Lagos state Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode against the aspiration of Mr. Babajide Sanwo Olu a Governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State.

On Sunday, September 30, 2018 the Lagos state Governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode while addressing a press conference at the Lagos house Alausa, took a swipe at Mr. Sanwo-Olu by saying “He doesn’t have the competence to do what he is being propelled to do. This is somebody that has gone for rehabilitation before. The records are there at the Gbagada General Hospital,”. This simply means the state Governor would have either used his position as the Governor to access Mr. Sanwo-Olu medical records or some medical staff at the Gbagada hospital made such records available to the Governor even without requesting for it for political reasons. Irrespective of how the Governor got to know about this medical history, it shows the Gbagada General Hospital committed an infraction by making such information public without the approval of the patient while the decision of the Governor to make such a political point is another low for public communication by elected officers in the country.

I am indifferent to the existing political situation in the state but all I’m saying is that the right of every patient must be respected and protected from third party as contained in the Hippocratic Oath that was sworn to by medical personnel as the release of such information without the patients approval could be damaging. As for the Lagos state Governor, he has committed an infraction that belittle his office.

op how are u sure, the information was divulged by medical doctors that made you to be quoting Hippocratic oat? Are you not aware that hospital staff other than medical doctors works in the records dept? Pls stop accusing doctors unnecessarily

I like Akinwumi Ambode as a governor, but he took this fight so personal to the extent by dig deep through medical record of Sanwo-olu. We don't know who is saying the truth now? Mr Sanwo-olu has debunked the allegation but we want Gbagada General hospital to come and clear the mess. They have broke the oath of secrecy by revealed the patience information without his consent and I think this is appropriate time for the hospital to come out and explain to the general public, if Mr Governor was right in his allegation or he was just fighting a lost battle.

Sanwo-Olu should not have reacted when his name was not mentioned.

After installing Men with sound mental health (Fashola & Ambode) and they have proved to the godfather (Tinubu) that they have a mind of their own and are not ready to obey all orders from Bourdillon, the godfather has learnt his lessons and has decided to install a mentally deficient man that would be easier to control!

Valid question. The Party still does not have right to make such open to the public.

Any information you fill in any form for political, health, employment etc are your personal and confidential information. The mere fact that you filled on public documents does not make that information public.

I must add here and you would agree sir, that most of us do not fill TRUE information on some of our forms.

Our Governor has just shown that is not a good politician.

He was given a chance to sell himself for the second term in office but instead he blew it away.

APC have a blueprint for Lagos state. This blueprint was setup in 1999 and Governors before Ambode have implemented this blueprint to their best of knowledge.

I want to be convinced, please help me list what Governor Ambode has done for the past three and half years.

Seriously speaking, Ambode went too far about his opponent.
Ambode should have use the opportunity of the world press conference to make case on issues rather than turning it to attack show on his opponent.
It's obvious that Ambode is a bad student of dirty politics. Such an amazing revelation should not have come from a sitting governor who is desperate for second term in office.
I believe, Ambode must have social media aids who fight social war on his behalf
It's not in our characters to use health issue to abuse someone in Yoruba race.
