By Serena Thompson

Even with the huge demand
The temptation to wander off
The delusional necessity
Just look the other way
Just have a go
It wouldn’t be much
It wouldn’t fly.

But back and back again
Back to the old ways
A reminder of the former
A remiscent of the dark days
Trapped in chains
No way around
Can’t Jump off.

It comes right in our faces
With a temporary fix
But then it gets out of control
A lingering problem
A persistent saga.

A scandal even with no faces
A face off of no name
Big shame and no gain
Just walk past it
Conscience pity party.

Don’t let it stay
Knock it out
Don’t even let it perch
It shouldn’t spread
Cover your mind
If your heart demands, ignore.

It doesn’t matter if it’s once
If it’s just a bit
If it stays for a moment
Or creeps in like a toddler.

Once is once
To compromise once
Is to compromise all
No compromise!!
No vanguish!
Get Out!
