I've seen this news but have ignored it severally bt since its on fp, lemme say something. Personally, sentiments aside, i think she justs wants attention. SOME ladies re like dat. Please from lawyers I ask, not disputing that Ronaldo might have had a one night stand with the lady here, but how does one prove rape or not for something that happened 10 years ago?. I like to know how a court views and approaches these sort of accusations. I mean if multiple women all of the sudden start to pop up, I can understand a trend, but in an isolated case how strong of a case does she have?.

Rape has been largely define as sexual intercourse without one's consent! It need not involve force or weapon.

There can be persuasive rape as well. So if you sweet-tongue a lady, enchant her with money or play on her vulnerability, and she later get back to her senses, she reserves the right to sue for rape.

What is more important is the word "consent" and that's what will need to be established, even though it may be difficult.

Juventus have come out to defend forward Cristiano Ronaldo amid Allegations of Rape.

The 33-year-old has been accused of rape by former night club worker Kathryn Mayorga.

Mayorga, born in Nevada claims the incident happened in 2009, the same night after which Manchester United accepted a bid from Real Madrid for the Portuguese.

But the former Real Madrid player has denied the claims.

And now his new club Juventus have issued a statement regarding the Rape allegations.

“Cristiano Ronaldo has shown in recent months his great professionalism and dedication, which is appreciated by everyone at Juventus,” the club Twitter account posted.

“The events allegedly dating back to almost 10 years ago do not change this opinion, which is shared by anyone who has come into contact with this great champion.”

Mayorga claims that the incident happened after Ronaldo introduced himself to her in the VIP section of the Las Vegas night club.

After allegedly giving her his number, Ms Mayorga says Ronaldo invited her and her friend back to his penthouse at the Palms Place Hotel.

While changing clothes to get into his jacuzzi, Mayorga said that Ronaldo walked in and asked her to perform sexual acts.

She then said, despite her refusal, Ronaldo forced himself on her and committed rape.

Her lawyer, Leslie Stovall, said yesterday: “She has decided not to make herself available to the media and stay out of the public because of her emotional state. It is not pleasant for her."

Despite Ronaldo denying the allegations, Mega Sport Brand Nike, who sponsor Ronaldo, have expressed worries at the allegations.

“We are deeply concerned by the disturbing allegations and will continue to closely monitor the situation,” they told AP.

Most rapist are moved by an extreme rush of libido fueled adrenaline rush or external drugs, I don't think you as a man would be able to ward of an attack from a fellow guy that is obviously high much less a sexual act by one, your comment is very insensitive to real rape victims, rape has been bastardized and misused that the real trauma is been overlooked and overshadowed, it's a scar that most times never ever fully heals but manifests in other phases of life, just pray your and your family members never get to experience such.

Some women are indeed very stupid. You took the pains to follow him into his room (based on say she don catch mugu), then UNDRESSED, ENTERED INTO HIS JACUZZI NAKED, so that else will happen if not consensual sex?

It was a party in his suite, there were other people there it wasn’t just them, but she said, she did not want to ruin her dress, so Ronaldo offered her a bathing suit to wear. She was supposed to go in to a bathroom change and join OTHERS in the party. However, Ronaldo ambushed her while she was changing. Why I am leaning to believe she was raped.
1. It was anal sex ( that’s not a common/easy type of sex women consent to)
2. His OWN accounts during the confidentiality agreement in his lawyers office ( the legal document is online)
3. She reported to the Las Vegas police that night and was taken to the hospital ( there are records of it ).
4. This is the second time Ronaldo has been accused of rape, first was in 2005.

Why she withdrew the case and took money instead, doesn’t meant the rape did not occur. Imagine how her world would have upended if she had pursued it then.

How I wish men would know how very common sexual assault is and how VERY little women come forward to report.

Undue influence is also a form of rape. In that case, the victim feels too insignificant or chooses not to offend her superior. Rape is multi-faceted and feminists and those concern keep expanding it. I evem saw a placard here on Nairaland that reads, "i am drunk means no". Even though you are not the person that get the person drunk, you should wait till the woman is sober before making a move. I still do not know why women stay this long before coming out as a victim of rape.
