Awon ole, they've stolen another Sowore's idea, watch the video below. Why can't put the clause to employ Nigeria engineer while negotiating the deal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I95SVy56_w4?t=355 Meanwhile, the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has called on China Civil Engineering and Construction Company (CCECC), the company contracted by the Federal Government to construct the $1.5 billion Lagos-Ibadan standard gauge railway project, to bring Nigerian engineers onboard the project. 4 Likes |

Similarly, a total of 85,816 tonnes volume of goods/cargo travelled via the rail system in Q2 as against 79,750 recorded in Q1 and 18,212 in Q2 of 2017, respectively, representing 371.21 per cent growth, YoY and 7.61 per cent growth quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) basis. Everything is growing year on year so that's good. The quarterly declines Im not sure why. They should look to increase the cargo movement. 1 Like |

Nothing to celebrate still; the amount generated is still too meagre and wouldnt cover the operational costs, let alone make profits enough to pay back the loans. How I wish these rails and trains would just be concessioned/privatised upon completion to ensure efficiency and profitability in it's operations; else the trains would just remain another government liability for which funds would still have to be pumped in from government coffers every year to ensure its survival. 2 Likes |

What's up with the Chinese? They can do their own project works in speed records but on other clime it's as slow as snails, I think it high time we involve the Japanese in other projects, might be slow also but extremely durable with their designs, and our engineers should step up Pls, a consortium of good engineers in Nigeria can do this work but alas any contract in Nigeria we find it to be an avenue to get rich, the engineers and scientists commissioned by the Western world to do their infrastructures cared less than the money more than the achievement. 1 Like |
