Steve Ayorinde was appointed by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode as Commissioner for Information. He later became the most powerful man in his cabinet, deciding who gets what in the cabinet Whenever party elders needed to see the governor, he will direct them to Steve Ayorinde who is not a member of the party. Party leaders later complained to Tinubu and Steve was redeployed to Ministry of Tourism He drafted the speech for Ambode in which the Governor dared Tinubu and labeled Sanwo-Olu as a mentally unstable fellow.
