A police officer identified as Theophilus is presently on the run for allegedly shooting dead a police sergeant during the Osun state gover­norship election last month.

Theophilus, with police num­ber 410022, was alleged to have shot dead the deceased identi­fied as Owai Owai aka ‘Temple’. Both were among the police officers deployed to secure Osun governorship election last month and were said to have gotten into a fight over sharing of money, culminating in The­ophilus shooting the deceased.

According to a source, late Owai Owai from Adim Biase local government area in Cross River State, had earlier called his family that day promising to return for a visit after the election.
