Margaritav, Maybe my eyes are doing me in, but that looks very much like Aniekan Ido in one of those Efik Weddings, that would be amazing as I haven't seen that dude in over 10 years

I don't know Aniekan Ido. The wife is Efik, my mum told me about the wedding, she is familiar with her family  smiley

Seriously, I think I might break the code and have a half yoruba and half edo wedding type. Yoruba aso ebi, but edo hair decorations. But the pix above is too beautiful.

lol! whose you??

it was beautiful! it still is I guess if you go to the village!

its a series of rites! lots of tears, soo romantic!
the one done at ours is amazing!
hundreds of women wake up really early in the morning and take the bride dancing out on the streets
they lift her up on thier shoulders and do a march
then they gather in traditional prayer- and its really sweet!

for some strange reason they also roll around in mud! (im not a fan of that part)!
they 'wet' the brides feet for good luck
and the eldest women give the bride all sorts of advice in front of the youths
the youths do a dance and they decide who is mature enough to marry next
then they take the younger brides to the king and his chiefs to pray for them

it really is amazing, its the highlight of the years I spent back home!
its not all clothes hairstyles, heavy make up and an artsy cake!

I have never lusted over a married woman before until I seen that one. Oh my! Her husband is such a lucky man. And her makeup was nicely done. I bet her bride price would be a brand new car!
