Devotees of Sàngó were invited to perform traditional rites in a community in Oyo state which was affected by a lightning recently. It was gathered that the lightning also destroyed some houses and killed a victim in the process.

The Sàngó worshippers performed the traditional rites and found a local item (Edùn Àrá) that was formed by the lightning and dug it up.

It is believed that the devotees of Sàngó have the responsibility to make certain traditional rites in the place affected in order to prevent again the same accident in that locality.

Besides having to perform the rituals for possible victims, they also have the responsibility to find at the scene of the accident the Edùn Àrá , known as Sàngó stone

Illiterate Nigerian journalists.

Thunder cannot strike. Thunder is the sound of lightning and it arrives seconds after the strike.

The correct term here is "lightning strikes victim".

Even if you use thunder when chatting at least use the correct term when making a professional report.

I love this.
We mustn't abandon the ways of our fore fathers. Substituting our culture and values with that of the White man has been our greatest sin as Africans.
Religion has destroyed us. Our fore fathers were spiritual, not religious. There is a huge difference between a spiritual mind and a religious one.
Colonization was possible in Africa, not by military strength of the so-called White missionaries(we were militarily equipped too), but through religion. They brainwashed us.
We abandoned our spirituality and chose their religion. Right now, religion has killed more people than the spiritual activities carried out by our fore fathers ever did.

Say no to religion. Embrace your African culture.
A religious man is more evil than a spiritual man.
A spiritual man is more powerful than a religious man.

Seen

'When a bolt of lightning does strike a human frame, very bad things happen. In addition to the 300kV of energy coursing through you, the power of the strike heats the surrounding air to 50,000 degrees F, causing third degree burns at the bolt's entry and exit points. It can also create lightning bolt-shaped burn marks, called Lichtenberg figures, which are caused by bursting blood vessels. The heat and force can singe and shred clothing. Lightning strikes have blown people clear out of their shoes.'
