The boko haram crisis is draining and wasting Niger delta money sourced from crude oil drilled in oil producing community. This money being diverted to stockpile ammunition and other fighting equipment could have fixed the problems in the southern part of Nigeria especially Niger delta region that is presently ravaged by flood. Many promising military personnel have lost their lives fighting to end this insurgency. It is high time federal government through the United Nation call all parties for a peaceful settlement. The only price Nigeria will pay is to create an Islamic nation for Boko Haram. Nigeria and Niger delta region can not afford to continue to foot the huge expenditure of this guerrilla war. Our Southern politicians are now selling Atiku a northerner for 2019. Atiku will go there as President to waste more money in this needless crisis. Have southern political leaders realise the financial and political implications of an Atiku presidency? Apart from wasting Niger delta crude oil money on the north east. Atiku will want to spend 8 years as President of Nigeria and if this figure is added up the north will dominate the presidency for 12 years. Does commonsense not teach southern leaders to exercise some patience and give Buhari 4 more years at the presidency. This is to make way for a clear southern leaders to come into the presidency come 2023 who will probably spend 8 years. If Atiku is voted as president it will only extend northern rule. |
