Members of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Akwa Ibom State chapter, on Thursday the 18th of October 2018 paid a courtesy call of the Management of Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU). The visit was led by the NMA State Chairman, Dr. Nsikak P. Nyoyoko.

During the visit, the NMA members spoke on various issues such as establishment of a Medical school in Akwa Ibom State University, welfare issues for AKSU Medical staff and other trending issues in the field of Medicine, as it relates to Akwa Ibom State University. They also expressed delight at the fast pace of development and transformation that has taken place in the institution over a short span of time.

In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor – Prof Eno Ibanga fnip, welcomed the NMA delegation and said that the visit was timely and promised that the University is always disposed to new and innovative ideas of resolving emerging challenges. He reminded the visitors that Akwa Ibom State University has a long term development plan and that programmes such as Medicine, Nursing, etc have been properly captured in the growth and expansion outline of the institution. He re-echoed the present drive of Management currently to include the consolidation and 100% accreditation of courses in the current 7 faculties of the University....
