On Monday, the 12th of November 2018, the Department of Mass Communication, Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) played host to an accreditation team from the National Universities Commission (NUC). The team was earlier received by the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof Eno Ibanga, who expressed joy over the visit.

During the visitation, the team inspected and accessed facilities such as the University Library, Resource room, the television/radio/photo and advert studios of the Department of Mass Communication.
