Simi Drey, is a popular OAP, model and activist whose career in Nigeria media began during a summer internship at HiTV, after years of schooling abroad. Born Simileoluwa Audrey Adejumo, as the eldest of 5 children, the red carpet queen with a First Class Degree in Broadcasting, Journalism and Communications from the University of Wales, is arguably one of Nigeria's brightest media personalities.

While crediting her big break to Ebony Life TV show, The Governor, where she plays the Governor’s daughter; Simi, who has since become more popular as a media personality and activist, shares a few tips to having a successful career in the creative industry, while commending the Nigerian youth for innovation. "I have seen the Nigerian youth and they hustle. We live in a country where we suffer from lack of infrastructure and constant electricity, yet, many young individuals have found innovative means of surviving and making way for themselves. We don’t even have a system such as the ‘benefit system’ in the UK where the Government gives funds to low income earners. No option for laziness. It is ether you sink or swim in this country. And I think the creative industry isn’t taken as seriously as it should be in Nigeria. A lot of actors and models are extremely underpaid, which is why I always urge people to make sure they have an agency to represent them. Otherwise, you could end up selling yourself short."

Asides entertainment, Simi, a recipient of the prestigious Trek Africa Award, and partner at the La Femme Foundation, an NGO raising awareness against violence and rape especially against women and children, amidst other projects; is encouraging the idea of more women going into politics. "For so long, women have been treated as second class citizens and not just in Nigeria, but around the world. We still have a lot of hindrances such as education and cultural factors but I am looking forward to the day we can see a female President in Nigeria"

Describing the qualities she finds attractive in a man as fidelity, honesty and loyalty, Simi, was quick to be a life coach, adding that "Life is difficult, yes, but I honestly believe that we are never given more than we can handle; many of you out there are scared to take a step towards achieving your dreams due to the fear of failure. However, falling down or making a mistake is not failure. Rather, not getting back up is failure. Every successful person has gone through a period of uncertainty and sometimes their plans didn’t quite work out. However, perseverance and consistency is key. Keep dreaming big and never give up."
