10 vital things you should do after getting your call-up letter.
1. PRINT YOUR CALL-UP LETTER: To print your call-up letter, all you need is your registered e-mail and password.
2. PRINT THE ORIGINAL COPY TWICE:
You should print the original copy in colourd (twice) and then make 4 photocopies as you would need to submit some duplicates in camp.
Also, make photo-copies of other documents.
3. READ YOUR CALL-UP LETTER: PCMs are advised to read through their call-up letters at least 3 times before going to camp. The orientation camp address indicated on the call-up letter is exactly where you should report for your camping.
4. REARRANGE YOUR DOCUMENTS: What you need to take with you are:
Call-up Letter (print 2 original and make 4 photo-copies)
Green Card (1 original and 4 photocopies copies)
Statement of Result/Original Certificate (1 original and 4 photocopies)
Passports (8 copies)
Final year Students ID (1 original and 4 photocopies)
Note: Foreign trained graduates should go with original of all documents they uploaded online.
5. SEAL YOUR DOCUMENTS: buy a water resistant file and seal your documents properly.
Make sure you don't laminate your Call-up letter or Green card.
6. PACK FEW STUFFS: You don't need to give yourself unnecessary stress, only go with basic things such as:
Touchlight
Mosquito net
Whites shots
Two casual wears
Cream
Power bank
Cash
ATM card
Beverages
Spoon and food flask
Other things, you can buy them from Mami market.
You don’t need many loads because after camp, you will be given 2-week terminal leave to travel and get other things.
7. LOOK FOR TRAVELLING MATES: Do not travel alone, find other persons posted to thesame place. We have created several WhatsApp and Facebook Groups where you can easily find persons traveling same place as you.
8. BE SAFTY CONSCIOUS: Don't just jump into a commercial bus, some Corps Members have lost their lives due to road accidents, robbery attacks etc. Look carefully at the bus you are to Travel with and know the kind of driver that is going to drive you. Also, pray for protection.
9. BE HAPPY: Don't let Nigerian economy decide your happiness. Don't see NYSC as a waste of time, but see it as an opportunity to affect positive change to where ever they posted you.
10. STAY IN TOUCH WITH NYSC Katsina: Do not forget our Facebook page
