16Ebiscoo: States in Northern Nigeria including some other federal allocation dependent state in the south should learn the concept with which Lagos state make money which is taxation of corporate bodies in their area and also tourism. Governor Abdulaziz Yari and some federal allocation dependent state believe that they are so poor to the extent that they can not afford the N18,000.00 minimum wage. But these governor are not developing their state internally generated revenue IGR. They prefer to wait cap in hand to collect the so called free money. These governor operate as governor from the richer state in Nigeria with a large number of security and personal aides under their payroll. Now that crude oil earning is dropping with its resultant negative effects on government treasury and spending. Does it not occur to our public office holders to look for cost cutting measure to run our governmental and public institutions. Most importantly stop this mindless looting of our governmental treasury. After draining crude oil and the big money that it comes with our wicked political class are jostling to set up gas pipeline to tap gas from the Niger delta region through the northern part of Nigeria and across north Africa through the Mediterranean to Europe. From what is coming from Dr Ibe Kachikuwu (state minister for petroleum ) report the whole project will be a long difficult concept as the federal government has to settle the Niger deltan whose crude oil they stole for close to 50 years. The gas export will also withness wanton vandalism as gas is much difficult to manage than crude oil. |

Ogbenimax: There are so many festivals such that following the diverse culture and traditions we'd have more than 1000 festivals at any given period but appreciating them is what is killing our culture...so elwe overcompensate by copying. |
