don't know why so much people hate it, some peeps say they prefer custard (iyama ). it's one of the favourites of my family, never miss it on saturdays .

The reason why i hate pap is because it makes me so hungry as soon as i finish drinking it, it's just another form of water, why should i be drink "water" in place of correct food?.

Love the AKARA side of it. Prefer it to Custard since it can also be taken with milk.

i've asked some of my friends why they hate it so much. one said it's for old and sick people, another person said it's like scooping sperm into your mouth . could be that he was trying to discourage me from taking but naa!!! nothing can come between me and ma beloved pap. my Saturdays are not complete without it

anyone comparing pap to spermatozoa, needs to check into rehab. And go cold turkey on the s.ex.

Akamu is good. Just thicken it. Then add tin milk or unprepared bournvita. Put sugar. With a side of fried plaintain and akara. People must not know how to prepare it well well. Abeg I can give instruction.

Even if you make it thick as stone, that won't stop it from turning to water once it lands on your tongue, it's water whichever way you look at it.

And the winner is pap. Love it to death. For the best taste add Dairy cream topping with St. Louis sugar.
Even better with Akara on the side.

I think d question should rather be WHY DO PPL LOVE PAP (OGI) SO MUCH because I dont know much ppl dt hate it so much as u suggested, even from the pool here more ppl love it!!!!!!

Pap is good and I grew up on it back in the days. I've not taken it for some time now because it is not readily available where I am currently. I feel the reason why many folks on this thread dislike Ogi or akamu is because of the way it is prepared by different people. When I was in boarding house in Ogun State in the early 90's, I hated the Pap that was served by the school authorities. It was watery and you were also given two small akara balls to go along with it . Those were the days of suffering as a secondary school student. However, when I went home for holidays, My step mum prepared the Ogi in a superb way. It was thick and she served it with delicious Agoyin beans and sugar.

It should be noted that there are different kinds of pap. I don't like the white pap made from white maize [ I guess this is the type of pap that many nairalanders find it nauseous and do not like ]. I love the ogi made from Yellow Maize and Guinea Corn [ This variety of Pap is reddish in colour ]. The Yellow Ogi is my favourite and we used to have loads of it stored in our freezer. Ogi is very nutritious and I love taking it topped up with Bournvita and granulated sugar [ not the unhealthy Dangote sugar o ]. Cheers.
