The new policy does not involve visitors from ECOWAS nations. Informed source has revealed that several foreigners especially from China, Malaysia and Indonesia had been sanctioned by the government for violating the orders. Yeah this policy make sense but you would think they would add ECOWAS foreiners to list considering they break rule most. Asian foreigners particularly Chinese nationals overstay visas and are in crimes such as illegal mining. 31 Likes 1 Share |

For effective implementation of the policy, the federal government has ceded to Concec Limited the concession to generate money from this policy and since the implementation as approved, THISDAY learnt that foreigners travelling outside the country and those still staying have paid to legalise their stay in Nigeria. Ok sounds legit. If they just keep track of their visas expiration date they wont be subject these charges. The government will get a decent amount of money for a year or two before foreigners wise up. |

Nonsense, an immigration Job has been given to private company what kind of nation do we run? Ecowas visitors are not among, Ecowas allow members from other country to stay 90 days and after 90 days you either renew your stay or pay over stay fine. Ghana apply the rule and that's reason many Nigerian pay for over stay in Ghana. why is it that Nigerian immigration along Badagry express force Nigerian moving from border to lagos to provide Nigerian passport or pay fine. i have never seen country demanding to see citizen passport inside the citizen nation only Nigeria do this. 4 Likes |

Lol. This gives all of us (Nigerians) more reasons to love what we have. When we obey the rule of law and better our society, we certainly would have a place we all can chill without any immigration police asking crazy questions. #God bless Nigeria forever. 3 Likes 1 Share |

Blue3k:They should make proper consultation if it's acceptable internationally because many Nigerian are outside the country and may be facing same immigration laws. I think normally they have a way of settlement in case you don't have money to pay. |
