Actualities about The Great Walls of Benin

-The Walls of Benin were utilized as a protection of the recorded Benin City, in the past of the now ancient Kingdom of Benin and now the capital of the present-day Edo State of Nigeria.

-It is viewed as the biggest man-made structure longwise and was hailed as the biggest earthwork on the planet.

-It encased 6,500 km² of network lands. Its length was more than 16,000 km of earth limits. It was evaluated that most punctual developments started in 800 AD and proceeded into the mid-1400s.

-The Benin Walls were desolated by the British in 1897 amid what has come to be known as the Punitive undertaking.
