FIFA organises football at the Olympics. It is a FIFA tournament.

Thanks, but I think it's a recent development.

It has always been the case.

In fact, once upon a time there was no age limit for the Olympic football competition. FIFA imposed an age limit to prevent the Olympic football tournament from competing with the World Cup (furthermore, the Olympics only allowed amateurs to play while the World Cup allowed professional players to play).

FIFA and the IOC had a clash in the 1990s. The IOC wanted FIFA to remove the age limit, but FIFA didn't want to. The IOC threatened to suspend football from the Olympics. They eventually settled on a compromise. 3 overaged players were allowed to play in the Olympic football tournament (beginning with the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta).

CAF must be crazy, or its committee had been bribed, y E.G , if they must re-instate a country,
what ever happen to helping Kenya thru the group stage moni, for qualifying

Africa is not "Father Christmas". Kenya has hinted it could not fund a team to the tournament. CAF did the right thing to unban EG.

what ever, but recalling EG is an insult to Kenya, and beside EG deserves something lik 6-8 years ban, for daring to bring our female game to the mud over the years, FIFA had done theirs , but I don't know wats wrong with ours

There is confusion about qualifications for the World Cup in France next year. The Nations Cup serves as the qualifiers for the World Cup. The top 3 teams at the Nations Cup will qualify for the World Cup. However, FIFA had banned Equatorial Guinea from the World Cup for fielding ineligible players in the qualifiers for the 2016 Olympic Games, so what happens if Equatorial Guinea gets to one of the top 3 positions at the Nations Cup?

It's simple, if they finish third then the fourth team replaces them
