I know many people will not read this out of laziness that we are well known for. Nigeria of today got to the state she is currently in as a result of the repeated act of selfishness, wickedness and inconsideration of our so-called leaders over the past decades. These so-called leaders were youths at a time. Now, we have found ourselves in an era of everyone praying to God to come down and help us paddle the canoe of our country while we find it so easy to just sit down and do nothing.
Our president called out all Nigerian youths as lazy sometime ago and everyone was angry at him......but I think he just hit the nail on the head.
Being lazy is not always restricted to physical activity; one might be physically hardworking but intellectually lazy.
When there are issues concerning national development in which youths should take part in to make positive changes, we are usually nowhere to be found. Even when the decisions to be taken will mainly affects Nigerian youths, we are not found anywhere around where they are being made.
Social medias like Nairaland, Instagram in Nigeria etc have more than 90% of their populations made up of youths. Now, I am not saying this is a problem because it is normal. But what is abnormal is that majority of us don't allow this advantage to have a positive impact on us and the country at large. Most of the time when important topics are being discussed, we find a way of derailing them into online intertribal, political and religious wars. All that is seen is a trend of insults and abuses based on tribal, religious, gender and political differences amongst others. A lot of times when I go tru people's comments on posts especially on nairaland, I lose hope of a better Nigeria.
If the youths whom are supposed to be the leaders of today (which has been changed to "tomorrow" because of our nonchalance and laziness) are like this, then does Nigeria have any hope of changing from being a shithole
To change the fate of Nigeria, we the youths need to change our reasoning patterns and not just fold our hands and allow the old ones to sink the ship before we wake up. Let's learn to leave aside sentiments about religion, tribe, gender and political differences and form a united front against the bad situation Nigeria is in today. cry

Op u made a very good point here.... If only we the youth of this country with shit hole and old mentality leaders can stand together irrespective of our differences, religions, tribes, etc.
We can make a difference

We need to be unified

Tell that to Nigerian lazy youths. Maybe one day, they will wake up.
