Buhari always feel the old days are better than the future. Someone should tell him whatever it is Nigeria used in the production process in the so called good old days are now obsolete and outdated. We do not need the good old days. Take us to the future. Simple |

Grayxme: Sir, the problem with textile in Nigeria is that imported fabric is far cheaper and of better quality than our local fabrics. What the govt needs to do is introduce infrastructure that would reduce cost of production. If we can provide electricity, all these industries will grow cos market dey here |

eyeview: Like the Lagos-Ibadan expressway that is now about 70% completed which PDP abandoned for 16 years. Also like the Lagos-Ibadan railway that is about 60% completed which PDP never ever dreamt of. Like the Abuja intra-city railway which PDP started and could not finish but Buhari has completed and opened it for use. I think you need another brain, the one you have has expired. 1 Like |

efighter:Lagos - Ibadan exp way: 70% completed? What percentage was it before he took over? 45% or so. Railway line which the previous govt had started and made its funding available before leaving. Even amaechi confessed that it was almost completed before they took over. Buhari even commissioned the same exact train Jonathan had already commissioned. I can search for the pics. Mark my wards. Till Buhari leaves office, he can't boast of one thing he started and finished. Its not a surprise the national airline he tried to start died at the logo stage after consuming over N1billion. Like someone said, the only way that airline would have worked under Buhari is if GEJ and his team had floated the idea, got the technical partners, bought the planes and made the counterpart funds available before leaving for Buhari to come commission and take glory. But for Buhari and his incompetent cabinet to conceive and see it to success? You can bet on them to always fall hand |

Acidosis: during the good old days,I used to see industries along the isolo oshodi expressway -some of my elders were working in those companies -now they have been turned to churches. the moment we opened the flood gates and started importing everything under the sun we were doomed. Just a few months ago I walked into a bar owned by a Nigerian and he won't sell me a bottle of star, instead he wanted me to buy a bottle of imported whiskey. Now,the irony wasn't lost on me (we have lost our souls). Because I then went to a bar owned by a SA and had my fill of star -I was even given some cashew nuts to chew on (written all over that tin was made in nigeria). there is no future without a solid past -we need to retrace our steps and start from the basics. Those cotton farms would bring employment to thousands -hopefully we would revive our garment industry along the way (the asians were partly responsible for the collapse of that industry with their cheap imports). |
