Depends on the model year really.
I have been driving the 2006 version of the 525 since 2015 and to be sincere, I don't like it, I LOVE it!!

I wouldn't put much on other people's consumption numbers because they may be inaccurate.
Besides, you shouldn't bother with a BMW with six cylinders and above if you're worried about consumption figures. That's not what they were meant for!
If you want to improve your numbers do something about your plugs, injector nozzles and coilpacks
Re: BMW E60 And E90 Owners/enthusiasts' Forum by amywonda: 10:08am On Dec 26, 2018
Thanks for the input, this e60 consumes a whole lot more than v8 Range Rover Vogue i am used to, hence my worry , full tank last about 4 days within lekki, and I see other people on foreign forums do as high as 18mpg city while I am close to 11mpg city, would try your suggestion and see what happens

While you're at it you might need to check the mass air flow meter too.
Cleaning or outright replacement will go a long way

Hmmm, Cleaning over replacing ,

A full tank gone in 4 days within Lekki?!

Something is very wrong. The M54 and N53 engines are not that thirsty.

My thoughts exactly , this is the n53 , 2008 530i it is really worrisome , please what model do you have and what is your consumption figure

How many litres of fuel can your fuel tank carry? I am finding it hard to believe that 70litres of fuel or a little above that, gets consumed in 4 days driving within and around Lekki.

Is your airflow metre good? Have you serviced your injectors and replaced the plugs?

Proud owner of an E60. 2008 535i. My worry is that this particular model shares parts with E65. On two occasions, I have asked for E60 parts. Only to have them and they didnt fit. Instead E65 parts fit. So i have resorted to shipping in parts from U.S
