Olamsoh: YOU ARE NOT YET SAFE IN NIGERIA Till date, nobody knows who killed Bola Ige. Security is a daunting global challenge and our situation isnt yet acceptable under Buhari. This isnt to say we havent had a few plus considering that @PoliceNG is almost an entirely useless institution. The notoriety of SARS on human right abuses shouldn't make us ignore the unprecedented successes of @PoliceNG in the last few years. The arrest of Evans in 2017 by @PoliceNG Intelligence Response Team is an effort Nigerians barely commended the police for.
Since 2015, @PoliceNG have consistently busted deadly criminal gangs and high profile kidnapping, and I won’t be shy to admit this successes started from the time of Jonathan’s government when kidnappers of Okonjo Iweala’s mother were arrested in 2013. Very recent successes followed with @PoliceNG rescuing three female students kidnapped from Babington Seminary School, Ikorodu, Lagos in March 2016, and the subsequent arrest of the culprits. How many of us knew about Henry Chibueze, aka Vampire who was gunned down in March 2017? When left unhindered, our law enforcement have shown capacity to confront daunting criminals. It was a combined effort of @HQNigerianArmy and DSS that killed Don Warney within 7 days, after he massacred 20 Nigerians returning from church on New year day.
The gang that robbed array of banks in Festac, Lagos on October 14, 2015 were all arrested by December, same year. It's uncharitable not to have openly praised @PoliceNG for arresting robbers involved in Owerri Zenith Bank robbery. The policeman that died is already forgotten. When it became obvious that some of the criminals that killed catholic priests and worshipers in Benue are christians, and not Fulani herdsmen as shared in churches, men of God that incited religious hatred on their pulpit are since banting about soccer.
Like I stated earlier, may Atiku’s competence not kill all of you. Before this dispensation, under PDP’s misrule, which Atiku was actively part of for 8yrs, nearly all murder cases were swept under the carpet and remain unresolved. To the extent an Attorney General was killed! Late Chief Bola Ige, as a sitting Attorney General of the Federation was shot dead in his bedroom in Bodija, Ibadan in December 23, 2001. Similarly, Chief Aminasaoari Dikibo, PDP Deputy National Chairman was ambushed near Asaba in daylight and was murdered in October 22, 2004. What about the gruesome cold blood murder of Dr. Harry Marshal on March 05, 2003, at the climax for the 2003 presidential elections? Google who his son and family are accusing of masterminding his assassination. The killers are within us.
A rundown of some of the notable assassinations between 1999 - 2014:- Janet Oladape, PDP leader in Odigbo LGA clubbed to death by gunmen on August 13, 2002. Alhaji Ahmed Pategi, Kwara State Chairman, PDP, murdered at Aiyetoro, in Kogi State, on the 15th of August, 2002. Barnabas Igwe, Chairman, Nigeria Bar Association (NBA) and his wife, Abigail Igwe, murdered on the 1st of September, 2002. Victor Nwankwo: younger brother of Arthur Nwankwo, founder, Eastern Mandate Union (EMU) assassinated on August 29, 2001. Momoh Lawal: relation of Akaaba, former Chairman, Okene LGA in Kogi killed on March 5, 2001. Odunayo Olagbaju: member, Osun House of Assembly, killed in Ile-Ife on December 21, 2001. Chimere Ikoku: former VC, UNN, killed in his residence in Enugu on 20th of October 2002. Dele Arojo, PDP guber aspirant, killed by unknown assailants in Lagos on November 25, 2002. February, 2003, Chief Ogbonnaya Uche, ANPP senatorial candidate in Imo, assassinated. Theodore A. Agwatu, Principal Secretary to the Governor of Imo State, killed in February 2003. Mrs. Emily Omope, an AD woman leader died in March, 2003 at UCH Ibadan after an acid attack in December, 2002 by unknown persons. February, 2003 Ogbonnaya Uche, ANPP senatorial candidate for Orlu was killed in his home by unknown gunmen. Killers are yet to be found till date. Andrew Agom, A member of PDP Board of Trustees and former boss of Nigeria Airways, was also killed on March 4, 2004. Agom was on the entourage of the former Benue State governor, Senator George Akume, when he was killed. Death moved to d South West on May 15, 2005 with d murder of leading financier of Oronmiyan Group, a socio-political organization, Alabi Okoju, at Gbongan by assassins. On July 2006, Lagos PDP guber aspirant, Funsho Williams was killed at his Dolphin Estate home Ikoyi, Lagos. Former World Bank consultant and PDP guber aspirant in Ekiti State, Dr. Ayo Daramola, was also murdered in 2006. Kehinde Fasubaa, a look alike twin brother of Taye Fasuba, then Ado-Ekiti LG Chairman was killed on January 03, 2009. Taye Fasuba himself escaped death in 2004.
The assasination of DIPO DINA was a huge personal loss to me. On Monday, January 25, 2010 assassins shot and killed him around Covenant University, Ota. Dipo Dina was AC guber candidate in 2007. Gbenga Daniel indicated recently that Amosun should be investigated for his death.
Unlike now that we are all free to tweet nonsense at Buhari, In the years under review, your freedom to life as a journalists, after excising your freedom of speech was not guaranteed. Godwin Agbroko, Chairman, ThisDay Editorial Board was assassinated on December 22, 2006.
Another ThisDay journalist, Abayomi Ogundeji, was murdered on August 17, 2008. Those who know better are insisting that his death may have been political. People who are aware at about this period in our political history knew it was dangerous working at ThisDay Newspapers then.
Another journalist, Bayo Ohu of Guardian Newspapers was shot dead on a Sunday, September 20, 2009 by a gang of 5 men and a woman in his home in Egbeda, Lagos. Bayo Ohu was working on the Certificate Forgery story of Customs Controller General, Abdullahi Dikko before his murder.
Here is a summary of notable unresolved killings of journalists and politicians in Nigeria. Please pay attention to the dates: 1. Igwe Nwankwo - Shot February 15, 2000 in Anambra. 2. This isn't to say the internal security has improved today, but at least, so far, we have little or no political scores settled by assassins.
9,603 PRISONERS ESCAPED FROM CUSTODY UNDER PDP! During PDP’s reign of terror, criminals werent only having a free day, even prisoners were escaping from prisons. It defies logic to berate a govt that’s barely 3yrs old when an estimated 9,603 prisoners escaped between 1999 – 2014. - In 2005, 120 inmates of the Auchi Prisons in Edo threw open the prison gates and disappeared. - Agodi prison break was 11 September 2007. - Bauchi prison break was in September 07, 2010. - Damaturu, Yobe Prison break was on Sunday, 4 June 2012. - January 04, 2013, 20 prisoners escaped from Sagamu Minimum prison. - On 30 June 2013, 175 prisoners escaped from Olokuta Prison, Ondo. 54 were rearrested while 121 escaped till today. - 144 prisoners escaped from Kogi prison in November 02, 2014. - On Sunday 30th of November, 2014 341 hardened criminal broke out of federal prison in Afao Road, Ado, Ekiti State. Only 67 were rearrested, while 274 escaped till today. While the comptroller general of the Nigerian Prisons claimed it was boko haram that freed the prisoners,
Fayose expressly stated the on December 01, 2014 that the prison authorities out rightly conspired to set the prisoners free after funds for their feeding and upkeep were embezzled. The Comptroller of Prisons was promoted afterwards. That's the competence ATIKU is talking about.
A week after the Ado-Ekiti prison break, precisely 6 December 2014, 270 prisoners broke out of Minna prison, Niger state. Details of rearrest and prisoners at large remained sketchy. No stone was left un-turned to gag the press from reporting it.To see d class of criminals released back into d society, look at NBS breakdown reported in 2016. As of 2013, 6852 males & 20 females are in prison for murder. The numbers of males admitted into prison in 2014 when all our prisons were let loose jumped to 8,153 male & 407 female. For comparison, while number of prisoner for murder cases was 7172 in 2013 & 8560 in 2014, the number crashed to 2658 in first six months of 2015. Please take time to analyse for 2016 and 2017 as you are made to believe PDP deserves to return to power.
In July, 2016, Buhari ordered that Bola Ige and Dikibo’s murder case should be reopened. If this was done this year 2018, it would be said it’s because of 2019 elections. Nigerians, it isn’t politics that an estimated 9,603 prisoners escaped from prison between 1999 – 2014.This is why NIGERIA ISN'T YET SAFE. It is not because the current government isn’t fighting. Unresolved political assassination are ISSUES we should be discussing. Sadly, the PRETENDERS want to use the IGNORANT to give power back to a gang of murderers. Nigerians, never again!! No one has been killed between 2015 and now If yes, has all the cases been satisfactorily resolved? |

Nigerians, never again!! from your narrative you answered the question yourself by claiming as of today there no such cases. could it be that those of now new about it then or what are you trying to pass across, am only making sense from psychology. |
