Renowned Islamic Scholar Mufti Menk yesterday arrived Maiduguri, Borno State as part of his anticipated "Peace and Unity Convention". Having been to PortHarcourt and Lagos, the Zimbabwean Scholar was hosted by the executive governor of Borno State, His Excellency Governor Kashim Shettima along side the APC Flag bearer Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum and other prominent citizens of the state. Mufti's first lecture in Maiduguri was at Al-Ansar Masjid which was exclusively for the women who turned up in their large numbers to witness the biggest religious sermon since the insurgency. Few minutes into the sermon, a lady who wanted to be anonymous converted to Islam and chose the name Zainab. See more photos below as the convention continues today.
