Federal High Court, Uyo today sacked member representing  Itu State Constituency, in Akwa Ibom state House of Assembly, Hon Idongesit Ituen, and declared the seat vacant.

Ituen recently defected from the PDP to APC with Sen. Akpabio

if the Judiciary falls completely in Nigeria, then we are doomed. APC has really tried more than previous governments to weaken and threaten them but kudos to them, so of them are still steadfast to the law.

There is a rule that guides defection and one of it is that there must be crisis in the party for you to defect from it. So, it is incumbent on the Lawmaker to prove beyond reasonable doubt that as at the time of his defection, the party was in crisis.

But this is Nigeria, sha!

there was division in saraki's former party rAPC while there is no division in pdp where the law maker defected from

Hmm, the "no faction" rule. That might be the reason, though, one would claim, defection itself is a creation of faction.

Did any one file any action in court against those people you mentioned? I hope you know the court doesn't just make pronouncements. Someone must properly invite the court and submit to its jurisdiction before it can make any binding orders or judgments. The sacked lawmaker caused his problem himself by initiating the action in court. PDP did not go to court against him.
