How many Nigerians are investment bankers? 90% or more of Nigerian bankers are commercial bankers and what the op stated applies to them and even more. The cons of Nigerian banking are more than the pros. The op even forgot to mention high blood pressure. I remember many of my former colleagues who slumped all of a sudden even in the banking hall and at the end, they became just memories!

Very true for point #5 is verry verrry accurate. Many people have gone down for offenses committed by others. A guy got fired because a colleague that defrauded the bank did a transfer to him. Guess what, the transfer he did was a repayment for some money he lent the fraudster colleague

Female folks especially face sexual harassment in a bid to meet their bogus targets. Also, bank staff face all manner of emotional harassment from angry and frustrated bosses who have probably had a bad day at an executive meeting or have been scolded and threatened by a senior executive at the head office or over the phone. Transfer of aggression is the order of the day among different levels of bank staff.

10. [b] Lack of proper plan for ones personal life. Bankers lives are always a cycle around their job. They most of the time, don't always have a personal development plan, if at all there is any, it is the one that will be in the interest of their work, that is whey when their job fails, they are bereft of Plan B and they are left stranded, to maintain the expensive lifestyle becomes an issue. The nature of the bank job in this part of the world is such that bankers' lives are tied around their industry. They hardly have time to think about their future as they often believe that that is how life will continue until they die or the world ends, a reason they are shocked to the marrow if the job stops unexpectedly.

Major disadvantage in working with a non Islamic interest free bank is RIBA (unjust, exploitative gains made in trade or business)Punishment goes beyond this world.

I associate with the industry and I tell you its hell, especially working with someone that brings her home frustrations to the office.
