Do you all realize that companies are shrinking due to changing times?

I have been in a company that employs over 50000 staff and now they are downsizing to save cost and also latch on to the global trend of process automation where they maximize profit with less cost and less human intervention. This means fewer job opportunities in the areas most of us are looking like the Finance Industry, Telecommunications Industry, Oil and Gas Industry, etc which means more people out there without the supposedly good jobs.

The handwriting on the wall us that people should innovate and think out solutions to social problems like epileptic power supply, bad roads, insecurity, poverty, pollutions, etc otherwise the rate of crime, poverty, and social vices will rise.

My happiness is that people are waking up and smelling the coffee and are starting up great ideas to solve their frustration and making a decent living even though it is not easy especially in the Nigerian ecosystem.

I know of someone who was laid off from his bank job, He figured out that in European countries Nigerians love their food so he focused on supplying smoked fish to them. He met fish farmers, did his market research and started buying and smoking fish, he then would package and sell them to his contacts in Nigeria and ship abroad as well. This way he was able to stay afloat until now that he has broken even and is making a reasonable profit(more than what he made in the bank).

The good news is that the challenges we face in Nigeria are opportunities is we look well, these challenges will remain when we wait for a new government to come to change things for us, even if they do and we are not prepared as individuals we will still miss out on the opportunities.

I was in a trade fair that in September this year 2018 and I was fascinated by what entrepreneurs are making out of the available resources they find around them and I can say that they are the ones who will be financially stable I the nearest future. I saw packaged kuli-kuli, palm wine(non-alcoholic), Pap, fresh meat, etc see link for full video

At the rate that people are hoping for a sudden change in their economic status by voting in a new candidate, it calls for a rethink and reorientation so we can help save people from future frustration.
Please for those of you who have good ideas, comment so people can see what they can do for themselves to position themselves well and add value to society.

I can't stand the rise in poverty, crime, prostitution, complain, stress anymore when we can actually create our desired lifestyles with the potentials we have.

I have started a vlog to show my day to day operations as a Nigerian entrepreneur who faces the good, bad and ugly hoping that someone will be inspired and build something great that we all need. I have decided to post every day. see links below
