if you are talking of what they eat making them unclean, do you know all animals eat dirt depending on how they are left to roam about? If you poop in the open and magots begin to infest the poop, if a chicken passes by, it will relish that poop with the maggots so does that make all chickens unclean? Even the fish you eat, when people die in rivers and don't immediately get found, what do you think eats parts of those people? Fish... When people poop in rivers, before the poop even touches the water, a lot of fish will already finish it in the air before it even touches the water. Cray fish nkor? The day you are unfortunate to see a dead body floating on water, take a closer look... 80 percent if the time, you'll see them gathered by crayfish. I know you eat all these things bought from the market but does that make them unclean? Especially the ones grown in farms with controlled clean feeding. I believe you are educated sir..... Pigs are not unclean.... Only pigs found eating from gutters and waste bins are physically unclean not every specie. it's practically blood money... Very lucrative but of course like every other business, you'll need to know what you re doing. Feeding them can be expensive if you do not know what you are doing and very cheap if you do know what you are doing. Some farmers grow cassava in the farms which when grown are turned to feed which is a very effective way to reduce cost. I have a friend who owns a piggery and he uses chicken feed growers to feed his pig. One small plastic bowl of that feed twice daily and that is it. If you see his pigs, very massive and all muscle less fat
Of course he adds a few supplements and a few other things to the chicken feed to bulk up. Even blood and bones from already killed pigs are used to make their feed(blood meal and bone meal). Like I said.. if you know what you are doing, you can spend very little of feed while selling at profit. They mature in just 6 months, give birth 2ice a year to about 10 to 15 piglets which can be sold in 6 months time for about 50-60k each. Do the maths and subtract feeding from the total sum. That's a whole lot of money. If you are lucky, find a butcher that sells pork or a cold room, most of them buy your entire stock once they have reached maturity.

Archer notes a few basic husbandry skills can make for a happy home: clean water, an adequate, well-balanced diet and adequate ventilation. She also points out one very important task to maintaining hogs' long-term well-being: record keeping. "Farmers must have a record-keeping system to establish a baseline for their production numbers, so they can track continuous improvement." Alabama A&M and Auburn University have put out some nice Swine Production Records, which can be helpful when trying to organize your records.

4. Understand your pigs:

Understanding a pig's "point of balance" can give farmers and pigs peace of mind, Archer explains. "The point of balance is around the animal's shoulder: If we touch the animal behind her shoulder, she will move forward, and if we touch her in front of her shoulder, she will back up. These two tools help us to keep animals moving in the direction in which we want them to move." In addition, mechanisms like pig rings can help keep your livestock under control.

5. Minimize stress on your livestock:

Transportation can be stressful for animals and humans, but it is crucial to minimize that stress in order to maximize your pig farming profit, and everyone's well-being. "Minimizing stress starts long before we move the animals," says Archer. "It's important to walk through the pens and handle the pigs to get them used to positive human interaction." Of course, when it comes to the animal getting used to anything, the earlier the better.
