Leo Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are going to miss out on the top three for the Ballon d'Or. Several reports in France, in fact, claim that the likes of Raphael Varane, Luka Modric and Kylian Mbappé will be named as the best three players of 2018.

Messi and Ronaldo have made the Balon d'or top three for the past 11 years. This would be the end of an era although not every football fan agree with the reported decision to eliminate 'La Pulga' and CR7 from the podium of the award.
