I'm looking for a conventional DVD player that can play MKV / MP4 videos from an external USB device. Quality should be 1080p

Most of the ones in market can only play audio file from USB flash.

Kindly advise

There is no DVD player that can play mkv or mp4 video formats. It's like trying to install Android app on iPhone,it won't work.
DVD is a format (.mov),DVD players only play .mov or .Avi video formats. To play mkv or mp4 on DVD player,you will need to convert the videos to either .mov or Avi or xvid format.

Someone told me it's available. Though some seller don't know or understand it, the last DVD dealer I tried tore all the cartons one after the other for testing.

Were you later able to get a DVD player that could play the MP4 & MKV video format you sought?

I am currently in need of one, if it is available.

Pls advise if you can.

Bought one from a friend which plays blu-ray disc,play mkv/MP4/MP3 and also has two usb port(one at the front and the back)
